VSL Pro Ed. Complete
VSL Pro Ed. Complete
I purchased the VSL Pro Edition Complete from this site:
https://www.bestservice1.de/detail.asp/ ... 29p174p178
I have been working very hard to understand it's layout and can finally say I get it!
This library is discontinued and will only be around till supplies last however I can say that it is an awesome library and is priced at below half of it's original price.
I have been successful in getting their performance tool running real time. I can do authentic legatos, repetitions, articulation changes. It is simply everything I have been trying to do for the last three years!

Re: VSL Pro Ed. Complete
Yes, VSL is a great library. If Complete looks to expensive (even tough it's just half or so of what it used to cost) only getting the Cube is a good idea. The only difference between them being the performance set, afaik.

Yeah the Cube is great all one it's own.
I must say I am loving the performance set. I think it is well worth the money for what it saves in time.

Re: VSL Pro Ed. Complete
Hi. New in here...
I'm looking for a nice orchestral collection, specially something that can really make legato on strings, anything closer to a real orchestra than what I get from general AKAI collections, or Kirk Hunter collection I've been using for that matter.
Now I think Viena is the way to go, but i don't see any VSL Pro Edition in that page...
Do you mean this one?
https://www.bestservice1.de/detail.asp/ ... 29p174p178
or maybe this:
https://www.bestservice1.de/detail.asp/ ... 29p174p178
anyway... what collection are you talking about? I really like the idea of having an aplication running in parallel with the sample player for controlling articulations. I don't really see any other way of doing what I want anyway... Does it works ok with the LinuxSampler?
Thanks for any inputs.

Re: VSL Pro Ed. Complete
It looks like Best Service have sold all their VSL Pro Ed. Complete and Cube libraries. Note that these are libraries (in Gigastudio format) that have been deprecated by VSL in favor of their own VI player software (that can't be used with LinuxSampler).rfteixeira wrote:Now I think Viena is the way to go, but i don't see any VSL Pro Edition in that page...

Your first link goes to the VI version of special edition bundle. The second goes to the Opus 2 in the Gigastudio format that you can use with LinuxSampler, but it's just an add on to the Opus 1 library.
Your best bet is to find some reseller who still have one of the deprecated libraries in stock. Of course you could try to find someone who want to sell theirs second hand, which is legally a kind of gray zone as VSL insist that people should destroy the libraries instead (something I find stupid).

Re: VSL Pro Ed. Complete
Actually, come to think about it, one alternative source for a orchestra library for LinuxSampler would be to get "GigaStudio 3 Orchestra". If you can find a reseller (it's now a legacy product).

Re: VSL Pro Ed. Complete
Our school is looking to replace our VSL sounds as Vienna has said that we cannot have multiple users according to the license agreement; this includes both VI and VSL sounds Only our instructor gets use of the sounds - lucky him! Anyway, would the GigaStudio Orchestra be somewhat comparable to VSL sounds? Does its license allow multiple users (students who do not personally have a license)? Which other libraries could we look into? The combination of Linuxsampler and VSL was great to use, but we need to abide by their license agreement, so need something else. We would like something in giga format as Linuxsampler is great, but we are open to other formats. We would also like something both linux and mac compatible. Any ideas?
