Creating/Using the Instruments Database (Fantasia)

Post by thetinman » Sat Nov 27, 2010 6:07 am

I can't seem to get the instruments database working. When I go to Window>Instruments Database>Actions>Add Instruments>From Directory, I get the following error message
formatting the instruments database: Failed to backup database: permission denied
I don't know why this happens. Is there any way to fix this? I'm hoping this will make it easier to browse through lots of gig files.

I've had this challenge before.

The quick fix is to locate the DB, and change permissions to include the user, or audio group (provided you've added yourself as user to the audio group.)

I assume from what you've written that you're using Linux.

If you're using Win, then maybe someone else may be able to chip in.

Good luck,

Alex.
