Some converted soundfonts don't play as giga [RESOLVED]

Post by count_fuzzball » Mon Jan 11, 2010 7:26 pm

I've got a strange problem with some soundfonts that I've converted to Giga, namely that some of them play and I can hear sound from them in linuxsampler, but others don't play any sound, despite the voice count showing 2/2 (which would indicate that the file is being played?).

The strange thing is that when I convert these back to soundfont, they play fine...

Anyone have any ideas?

Like always when it comes to patch specific behaviors, I can only recommend to analyze the patch file with an instrument editor like gigedit, gigdump or some commercial one. It's hard to guess into free space.

Well here's the output from one of the gig files. I honestly can't see what's wrong with them...

Re: Some converted soundfonts play as giga, some don't?

My bad! I just figured it out!

Some soundfonts, when converted to gig seem to get the filter turned on to:

Lowpass
Cutoff:0

Which of course results in all sound being filtered, so no sound is heard even though I'm playing notes.
Thanks a mill for the advice Cuse!!
