Bad sound quality on linuxsampler with 64 studio distro

Post by sylk77 » Thu Oct 22, 2009 10:37 am

Hi,

I use 64 studio 3.0 distro and the sound quality of linuxsampler is poor : like robotic sound (i don't know how to explain it) with every samples i tried.
I had the same problem with 64 studio 2.1.

I have no xruns with jack, everything else works fine.

I don't understand because I didn't have this kind of problem with ubuntu studio 8.04, with the same soundcard and computer.

If someone could help me ...

Thanks a lot

Sylvain.

Sample rate possibly?

Are your samples 44100 and your system is set to 48000?

Hi,

I've tried both : 44100 and 48000 Hz in Jack : same problem.

Do you have double connections anywhere?

In other words, is the sound equivalent to phasing?

Hi. I've the same problem with Ubuntu Tango Studio 32bits & jack2 44100 Hz. Everything works fine, no double connections... But the sound quality is very poor, with too low volume, compared to Qsynth. I don't understand why. Strange. Pierre

Try to recompile the LinuxSampler Debian packages for your installation. It's quite easy: http://www.linuxsampler.org/debian.html
