Cant create jack device

Post by JMac » Wed Aug 26, 2009 6:35 pm

Hi,

Newbie here. I have installed LS, Qsampler, Libgig and can get it all loaded just fine. However, when I try to create an audio device I get an error with the following text in the window. I have a bunch of .gig samples I really want to use.

New Audio device lscp_create_audio_device: Failure during receive operation (errno=-1)
_lscp_client_evt_proc: recv: Connection reset by peer
lscp_client_recv: recv: Connection reset by peer
03:33:52.163 Client disconnecting...
03:33:52.165 Client disconnected.
03:33:52.169 Server was stopped with exit status 1.
03:33:52.175 New Audio device Could not create device. Sorry.
_lscp_client_evt_request: send: Broken pipe

What can I do please?

Thanks,

James

Hi,

Update. I was able to create an ALSA device and get Fantasia to work. I actually had cool piano sounds coming out with the virtual keyboard on Fantasia.

It is a start but now I cannot figure out how to get it to work with Ardour.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

James

Hi,

I am a forum unto myself! I figured it out by uninstalling and reinstalling jackd. It all works. I can port LinuxSampler directly into my Ardour. No news to most of you but it is really exciting to me.

Thanks,

James
