Combining 2 gig-files - How?

I would like to combine 2 gig files i.e. take 2 files and make one out of these files.
Each file consists of banks and instruments (like the old VSL files).
I want to have one gig file with twice as much banks / instruments.
I tried out gigedit but as I see it I can load only one gig-file at a time.
Does somebody have a tipp for me?
