How to switch a channel on and off

Post by janflorijn » Fri Jan 03, 2014 6:18 pm

Hi all,

I am a new interested person in linuxsampler.

I have read that the quality from samples played with linuxsampler is better.

I have succeede to play a sound. So there is hope.

Now my question is: How to switch channels on and off and free combine channels.

I think this question can be refined in:

1. How to create a midi channel wich controls the channels
2. Wich midi messages to sent to the channels to switch on and off

I have midiyoke and there are new midi channels. But I do not see these midi channels in Fantasia.

See the printscreen from fantasia with left upper a print screen from midi-ok

Hi all,

I found the solution.

First there is no need to assign the input keyboard to de linuxsampler. You only need to assign the midi devices wich controls the 'channels'.

Then the issue creating midi port to control these channels. I used the program loopmidi.

Now it is in my case possible to sent the control to the midi port generated bij loopmidi.

In linux sampleer do the same.

In my case I use jOrgan.
Use 'linuxsampler'with the lscp file, localhost and port 8888.
Create a generic sound and add the ranks.
Then change the propertie channel to equal 1 etc.

Using two dispositions, close linuxsampler between them.

Kind regards,
