Playing MIDI with LS

Post by rooz » Sun Aug 24, 2008 6:49 pm

Hi,

I want to use a midi sequencer to play exported midi files from lilypond. It is not easy to match for example hydrogen and Rosegarden, so I think I better can make my own drums *.gig file, isn't it?

How does the mapping works? Just make a default midi percussion mapping?
How does the number of keys: http://www.midistudio.com/Help/GMSpecs_PercMap.htm relate to the numbers of gigedit exactly?

I've tried to make a gig file using gigedit. I added the wavs to the keys in the general midi way.

I dragged the names of the wavs to 'sample' and added for example B6 to unity note.
Should I do more to get a playable gig file? Should I set channels, banks or whatever?

I tried to connect LS to Rosegarden but can't get any sound. I get drum sounds when I use my midi keyboard....

Some help needed here!

solved it. Used this mapping and then for Rosegarden one octave up:
