<curve>, <control>, and SFZ 2.0 opcodes

This forum section was originally created while we were discussing a new, additional engine and sampler format designed from scratch. In the meantime this resulted in our new SFZ2 engine, which is already implemented to a large extent. However this is still the right place for ideas, feature requests, drafts and plans for new engine / format concepts and ideas. We now have 3 sampler engines (Gig, SFZ2, SoundFont 2). Why not having more?

<curve>, <control>, and SFZ 2.0 opcodes

Post by nicop » Tue Jun 26, 2012 8:01 pm

Hi, I just checked that a lot of SFZ 2.0 opcodes are implemented, but I haven't the book of Simon Cann, so I don't know how to use them.
Can someone explain me how to use <curve> (and also vN I think) and <control>?
Is it possible to insert a brief description to the un-documented SFZ 2.0 opcodes in the "SFZ support in LinuxSampler" page?

Thanks! :)

Thanks Varpa,
I read the document, but I still don't understand the meaning of the <curve> opcode "vN".
Is it a global velocity curve definition? like the amp_velcurve_N?
I'm interested in the <curve> section because I use a custom velocity curve, and I'm triyng to avoid to define it in every <group> section (I use sfz for drums, and in the sfz file I use one <group> for each piece of the drum).

I do not know about these opcodes either. Try writing to Linuxsampler-devel email list: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/lis ... pler-devel
