Re: Consert setup

you can use the MIDI maps of LS and assign program changes to various samples which are loaded on demand. That way you can control everything from a MIDI keyboard without the need of frontend and without using ecessive RAM. Unfortunately I currently don't have time to explain you how to do it. Perha...

Re: Linuxsampler (windows) doesn't load TBO

hehe glad that it worked :) I was already fearing some nasty bug in LS but Windows always reserves nice surprises to users and developers, especially when it comes to memory management :) AFAIK there are already a port of mingw floating around which is capable to generate WIN64 code (binaries which ...

Re: Linuxsampler (windows) doesn't load TBO

You said 1600MB before crashing, looks like about to hit the 2GB ceiling. I suspect vista32 by default does not allow to address more than 2GB so perhaps this could be the reason. I don't know if vista32 handles this differently but I know that people on XP set the large address aware bit in their a...

Re: TASCAM Ceases development of Gigastudio

my stance on the matter Tascam will not open the source of GigaStudio any time soon, it would give competitors an advantage to better support the format and hurt the sale of existing GigaStudio software stock around the world. Making money in the audio software market is damn hard, too much fragment...

Re: Linuxsampler (windows) doesn't load TBO

Hi wistily, you should contact Andreas Persson via EMail ( look here for his email address: http://www.linuxsampler.org/developers.html ) and report him the problem as he is the one who wrote the 24bit code. He also owns a few large Sampletekk samples and according to him the work fine both on Linux...

Re: Linuxsampler (windows) doesn't load TBO

It is strange that LS on Windows is not able to load your files as the code (except the system related disk I/O routines, alias read() from file etc) is the same on all platforms. I developed and tested the Windows version on XP. I briefly tested LS on a Vista32 box (an Acer laptop) and performance ...

Re: No MIDI response after linuxsampler runs for a day

hmm hard do say but if LinuxSampler had some kind of time related MIDI problem (eg problems start after several hours), if you restart LS it should not give problems at least in the beginning. So my guess is the problem lies probably in the MIDI driver of your soundcard itself or some bad interactio...

Re: performance - 64 bit hardware

I guess you could also create a striped RAID for high throughput. While raid increases throughput it does not increase seek performance. So for maximum polyphony the best is always to spread out your samples on multiple disks as evenly as possible which allows to maximize both data throughput and s...
