Re: latest build cvs
Hey Christian, Yes OOMIDI only has alsa ports right now. We are looking into a native jack driver but there are so many other things to get done first. With a2jmidid as a bridge we have seen timing become stable for large orchestral scores. what was happening with alsa midi was playback became slugg...

Re: latest build cvs
Hi Christian, I have a question about "all notes off". Is it possible to send that event via LSCP? The reason I am asking is because I have this setup: OOMIDI->A2JMIDID->LS A2JMIDID acts as a bridge between alsa and jack allowing us to have much better timing than we had with alsa. The problem is th...

Re: Windows beta pre-release (incl. VST and 64 bit binaries)
We will have a good sample of what can be done in linux for you very soon. Just for example we are able to run a full orchestral template with realtime access to all samples running all day (or days and days) with little to no problems. It took years to get right but it all works off one machine no...

Re: Windows beta pre-release (incl. VST and 64 bit binaries)
After restarting cubase, both of these problems have gone away. Playback is now flawless :P It's weird but it was definitely wrong, and now it's definitely right. :x EDIT: I loaded IE to post this message, and now cubase has crashed (frozen up) -  We will have a good sample of what ...

Re: Before I download - will this work with VSL Pro Edition?
AFAIK in the EU such license restrictions can only be made for custom software, that is if the library was specifically made for some customer. I'd say the VSL is a standard product though. Whether they are really bound to help you on the issue depends on other factors as well, like how the product...

Re: Before I download - will this work with VSL Pro Edition?
If you can transfer the samples I am selling OPUS 1 and 2Hamish wrote:Well according to one of the VSL guys any kind of reselling breaks the agreement. Oh well. If the license can be transferred, I'm gonna have a hard job getting into contact with the guy who sold the library to me.

Re: Help with using LS with Cubase and VSL
Progress this afternoon: 1. Ignore Cubase's track-based bank/prog numbers. Set the MIDI channel only. 2. Ditch all attempts to use jack on windows. - This means forgetting netjack for now. - Even with the highest frames/period setting (matched on both master and slave) the returned audio was still ...

Re: Help with using LS with Cubase and VSL
Thanks for the info ccherrett. However, I cannot migrate to Rosegarden/OOM just yet because of my cubase-centric work. I'm also intrigued though why it's necessary to go to the effort of inserting prog change messages into a track. I can see 2 problems. 1. It's more work 2. You end up with a single...

Re: Open Octave Project and lscp
Alex,
So you want to eliminate the need for a midi map to Open Octave Midi?
I ask because I just know I will get stuck coding it

Re: Help with using LS with Cubase and VSL
I use VSL Pro with great success under linux. I cannot speak for Cubase but a few of us have been working on bank and program changes on the fly for the piano roll editor: http://www.openoctave.org/software I worked for 4 years to get this pipeline right and am finally happy with where things are at...
