Re: LS crash after last CVS update

Don't know if it will change the outcome, but have you tried to re-build gigedit?

Keyswitches

How are keyswitches implemented?

How can I figure out if an instrument has keyswitches (apart from brute force: pressing pressing every key on the keyboard)?

How can I make my own with gigedit?

Re: Amp simulation and circuit modeling

I went through my old bookmarks.html file and added some of them to del.ico.us tagged dsp, will add more resources when I find them.

Re: Sample library and synthesis musings

You know, I keep forgetting I have an Optigan downstairs in the basement. It was in a quasi-working state last I checked, as in, I could get it working long enough to sample it. :D Yet another source of odd sounds... Wow. That's an "instrument" whose existence I was totally unaware of despite the f...

Re: Amp simulation and circuit modeling

To me, the hybrid approach makes most sense and let you divide and conquer the problem domain. The best way to start is to make some simple prototypes of the "components" using Faust (which I'm still trying to grok) or something similar that already have the all the necessary opcodes to play around ...

Re: The Ideas Collection

Well, I'm a moderator, and I'm able to split topics, but I can't figure out the interface, and I'm afraid of messing something up. I created a new thread here to continue this discussion: https://bb.linuxsampler.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=20 AFAIK, Rather than just merging topics together, you can als...

Envy24 Control Utility

Guess we should have a topic dedicated to this little utility, envy24control, that is part of the alsa-tools package. As you might already know, this is the tool you use to control the hardware settings on your ICE1712 based audio interface. There are a quite a number of cards from different vendors...

Re: The Ideas Collection

Everything you've said in your post makes me wonder if we shouldn't be thinking about modeling behavior, rather than theoretical physical components. I also can't help but wonder if physical modeling techniques can be applied to circuits. Regardless, this is all very much off-topic now. I'll start ...

Re: Need help installing Delta 1010 (IRQ and I/O-APIC)

I can only use profanities to describe what a difference it is to listen to my mp3 collection through the Delta compared to the integrated HDA-Intel using the same near field monitors. Didn't know my monitors could sound that good. The music sounds alive and I'm still only listening to songs in 192 ...

Re: Need help installing Delta 1010 (IRQ and I/O-APIC)

Strike the last part about delay messages.

Apparently (said in the tone of Susan in Coupling) it was all me. I had set the Master Clock to "Word Clock"!! Changed it to "Int 44100" and everything worked!
