Re: max pitch value (octaves)

Thanks, that will help.

I don't have anything i'm using in LS that is stretched by more than 5 semitones (nearly all is ST, or Tone based), so i'll try this with 1 octave, and see if something falls over.

Re: work in progress linuxsampler pdf

Stan, good question and 2 reasons in response. 1. Fantasia works well here. 2. Fantasia handles multiple banks (more than 2), where qsampler only has 2, one for a GM style bank, and a GM style percussion bank. At the OpenOctaveProject, we're using large orchestral sample libs, which we build into a ...

work in progress linuxsampler pdf

In the Openoctaveproject workflow chain, LS plays an important part, and in an effort to make the user experience with creating .lscp files as easy a path as possible, we've added a linuxsampler page to our work in progress quick start manual, at OOP. One of our users, Anton, has generously converte...

Re: SVN configure?

Al, are you using the very latest SVN update?

I had a similar problem but the latest SVN solved it.

Re: recommended setup for recording piano over midi-to-usb

Gertjan, here's a link to a bit of a linuxsampler walkthrough that may help a bit. https://github.com/ccherrett/oom/wiki/Linuxsampler The basics are as follows: If you compile LS as an ALSA and JACK midi port capable sampler, then your hardware usb midi keyboard is likely to show up as an ALSA devic...

Re: SFZ editor?

An SFZ editor would be certainly useful.

If anyone is considering building something like this (for linux), then a function to automatically populate an sfz text file with multiple sample names from a folder would be a considerable time saver.

Re: What to do with a DLS soundfont

Roland, it may be possible to approach from 2 directions. 1. Buy a dedicated sample converter like: http://www.extranslator.com/index.php?page=exsc This will convert most formats including DLS. 2. Extract the samples yourself, and build SFZ files. This may seem time consuming at first, but the SFZ f...

max pitch value (octaves)

A question that i've been meaning to ask for some time. In the configure options is: --max-pitch-value (octaves) then a short paragraph about possible memory saving with a smaller value than the default 4. Can i ask what exactly this option does, and how does the value pertain to something like a la...

Re: SFZ

Hi, is it possible to use multichannel Wav or OGG Files instead of simple Stereo or MONO Files in SFZ?? It would be a great benefit because I am planning to build a Drum library. Therein I decide to play not only the direct microphoned source but also the overheads. For example Snaredrum direct sig...
