Re: Need guidance on next install steps ..

Hi Pete, It's great that you've gotten so far already with Ubuntu 8.04 and LinuxSampler, well done! Now regarding Question 1... did you have the jackd development library installed when you compiled linuxsampler? If you didn't, then Jack support will not be present in your build. You will then need ...

Re: Windows beta pre-release (incl. VST and 64 bit binaries)

Hi,
On Windows 7 RC when attempting to load any directory of GIG samples into the Database using Fantasia (standalone), LinuxSampler.exe crashes. I'll be installing on WinXP 32-bit today and will see if it's the same behavior there.

Re: Newb question - can't connect to JACK.

Hi StaggerLee, A little more information about your system will be helpful. Which distribution of Linux are you running (and which version), plus which version of jack are you using? Which version of LinuxSampler are you using (i.e did you download the Debian DEBs or did you compile from the CVS cod...

Re: Windows beta pre-release (incl. VST and 64 bit binaries)

Hi, I didn't know that the versioning with jack was an issue (and I've only ever used jackdmp/jack2 in Windows - I don't know if there is a Jack1 build for windows out there...). I did a compile with the Jackdmp 1.9.1 headers/libs and it worked so well that I thought it would be simple to just inclu...

Re: Windows beta pre-release (incl. VST and 64 bit binaries)

Looks like a build of 16 channels is the way to go... less complicated for the end user. Perhaps this can just be a 'compile-time' setting so that those who really want to tweak there systems can do so? My 2c Oh, and in the final release of the Windows release, would it be possible to build with bot...

Re: Very basic setup...

Hi again MDMullins, Are you using the new Windows beta pre-release build of linuxsampler or the original release of Dec 2007? If you using the old one, (just had another look at your screencap - looks like the old version) please download the newer one from this forum topic https://bb.linuxsampler.o...

Windows Build with Jack!!! and ASIO Audio

Hi, I've just experimented with compiling a Windows build of linuxsampler using the libs from jack-1.9.1 (http://www.grame.fr/~letz/jackdmp.html) and have a successfully working linixsampler Jack Audio device connecting to the windows Jackdmp server! Once I had figured out that I needed to create a ...

Re: Very basic setup...

Hi MDMullins, If you're using a virtual Midi keyboard in Windows then you'll need a virtual MIDI cable so that the keyboard and linuxsampler can be connected. Try installing MIDI Yoke from http://www.midiox.com/ . This is what I use in Windows XP (I'm not running Vista so not sure how well it will w...

Re: Windows beta pre-release (incl. VST and 64 bit binaries)

Hi, I shared the pre-release with a friend, and this is a copy of some of his conversation via email with me: [ I figure that MOST people who run the VST version will have only one standard stereo sound card. However, there will be a good number of us "experimenter" types who will have 2 or 3 SB car...

Re: Windows beta pre-release (incl. VST and 64 bit binaries)

Hi, In regard to the number of audio channels to provide in the VST dlls, it makes sense to me to have options for 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32. In that way most users should have an optimum choice for their system needs. My question would be this; What if the host only has two ASIO outputs - would one be ab...
