OpenOctaveMidi2 (OOM2)
OOM2 linear Midi and Audio sequencer. As part of the OpenOctaveProject, of which Linuxsampler is the beating heart, we've reached another milestone. We announce the release of the 2nd version of the OpenOctaveMidi sequencer, known as OOM2. After a change of codebase, a complete rebuild of the user ...

Re: instrument database support error message
Kim, how are you building LS? From source? For your second message, it usually means you have an instance of LS already running, or the previous instance didn't shut down properly. Ensure you have no LS instance running at all before you start again. If you're on Linux, a "killall linuxsampler" comm...

Re: Sustain pedals
Varpa, have you included a sustain CC line in the SFZ file? I don't use SFZ at the moment, but from my brief experiments, the file does what it says on the tin. You have to specify which CC commands the SFZ will respond to. And, are you setting the correct CC in FX sends? Midi is often designated as...

Re: Creating/Using the Instruments Database (Fantasia)
I've had this challenge before. The quick fix is to locate the DB, and change permissions to include the user, or audio group (provided you've added yourself as user to the audio group.) I assume from what you've written that you're using Linux. If you're using Win, then maybe someone else may be ab...

Re: Difference between ports and channels?
A port is one "pipe" containing 16 midi channels. LS enables you to create as many ports as you want, per midi device. (A recent upgrade in LS CVS. If you're running the stable version, there is a limit of 100 ports per device). So if you have something like 8 instruments, each with different articu...

Re: Separately editing multiple instances of the same instrument
If your gig files are accessible as a folder, then you can copy the folder and paste in your sample directory. Rename the folders to reflect the change. i.e. bassoon becomes bassoon1 bassoon2 Then edit each folder gig set independently. I've done this for an orchestra's worth, not only for the inten...

Christian, thanks for changing this. All is good now, and no more PC errors due to lack of resource.

Re: Fantasia bindings list too large to fit into screen
Grigor, the jack bindings list for each channel displays correctly for 116 midi ports (using muse as the sequencer midi port inputs).
Thanks again,
Alex.
Thanks again,

Re: Fantasia bindings list too large to fit into screen
Works ok now.
I'll give it a taste of the BIG template tomorrow, and see what happens.
Thanks for doing this.
Alex.
p.s. Would it worth updating the current Fantasia version in the download section of the website to include these changes?
