Re: Getting to work on Mac OS X
Got it. Instead of note off, your keyboard is sending note on with velocity 0. So I should treat note on with zero velocity as note off. Yes this is specified by the MIDI specs, so please add it to the AU MIDI handling code. (the Win MME MIDI code in LS should be fairly complete in terms of MIDI me...

Re: VSTi status
Hi, in principle LinuxSampler VSTi already works quite nicely (Andreas and me are testing it under various sequencers, I'm using reaper), what currently still needs to be fixed is the ability to use FX sends in LinuxSampler VST since it will allow to provide midi controllable FXes for GIG samples us...

Re: Any tips for building a dedicated machine - distro, etc
personally I'd opt for ubuntu server, minimum install, and then just add the packages you need to compile linuxsampler, real time kernel etc. then you can access linuxsampler from any box running java using jsampler (a windows or linux box). This has the advantage that you can use all the available ...

Re: What Installation File To Use?
here you can read how you can route LinuxSampler audio outs into Reaper using ReaRoute, until LinuxSampler VST will be released (rumours are that VST will come out quite soon )

Re: LinuxSampler on Puppy Linux 4.0
max voices selection at runtime needs to be implemented (it is a sampler engine issue not a front-end issue). VST is being implemented as we speak and releasing a VST plugin without runtime max voice selection does not make much sense as it greatly limits flexibility so expect both features come out...

Re: performance - 64 bit hardware
Hi Eddy, since you have the SSD could you run bonnie (disk I/O benchmark) on it ? it would be interesting to see how it would behave when using it using a sampler that does not any kind prebuffering as I described in this thread above. here you can find bonnie: http://www.coker.com.au/bonnie++/ comp...

Re: MIDI over LAN
Hi, about midi over LAN. I wrote EthernetMIDI as a free replacement for commercial windows tools ( $100 for such a simple program is quite expensive, considering it took me only a couple of evenings to implement it). EthernetMIDI is not particularly userfriendly in the sense that it cannot store set...

Car engine sound emulation for future electic cars. ideas ?
I posted this on the LAD list but it might be interesting for non LAD readers too, since LS is a sampler and perhaps with some additions it could do the things described below: since the price of fossil fuels is quickly going up to unsustainable levels the mass production of electric cars is only a ...
