Re: opensource sample lib format
You need to extract the samples from the .gig file, e.g. you can use gigextract that ships with libgig to do that. Next you author a SFZ definition file in you favorite text editor (or write a script file to generate it) to use the extracted samples. Regions containing the start of a new note need ...

Re: opensource sample lib format
Not forget about implementing legato, or even a true legato, instrument, in GIG you need something external like performance tool, in SFZ you can implement it direcly in the definition file. OK. Let's talk about how to do that for real. I would love to convert my performance set from VSL over. So w...

Re: opensource sample lib format
It has diskstreaming and as far as I know it can do all the stuff VSl needed the performance Tool for within the file by scripting. While this is really neat - I doubt that anyone will put effort in sample instruments that use all this features. Especially since SFZ has no copy protection (same wit...

Re: Feature suggestion for Fantasia
At this point my setup is static, but if I make a change to my very large template, routing is nasty. I would love to see some way to easily route in fantasia.

Re: How to create instruments database?!??!!!?
the whole /var/lib/linuxsampler/instruments.db is new so I am not sure what is happening because I do not use it. However: linuxsampler --create-instruments-db my_instruments.db and linuxsampler --instruments-db-location my_instruments.db will work for you. I use fantasia only for tweaking and start...

Re: The Open Octave Project Pipeline - Technical Overview Videos
Nice! When I look at your tracks I see that you seem to have the same instruments on more than one track: e.g. bass ensemble 1, bass ensemble 2, bass ensemble 3, bass ensemble 4. Are these the same VSL samples / banks on each track to make the sound "bigger" when all tracks play at the same time? O...

Re: Please help-1st time install of 64Studio/linuxsampler questi
Hey, thanks for the help. I took a look at your openoctave project, looks interesting. At this point I plan to follow your progress while I get more familiar with linuxsampler, don't want to bite off too much at a time. "Create as many ports as you need. This is linux. I have 129 midi ports and lot...

Re: Please help-1st time install of 64Studio/linuxsampler questi
Hey Guys, please forgive the total newbie questions. I've done a lot of forum searching and reading but not found all my answers... or at least didn't recognize them if I did. I've never had a linux machine before, so some of this command line stuff is pretty mysterious at this point. After a year ...
