Re: Sending arbitrary midi from keystrokes
Thanks for that Graham. qmidiroute is a nice tool but won't quite do. What I have come up with is a bit odd but works well. I create a series of midi files with the CCs I need using midicomp to convert a text file to midi. I'll make nine of them. I then have a script running in a terminal that gives...

Sending arbitrary midi from keystrokes
Hi all Does anybody know of an application (linux) that uses the computer's keyboard to send predefined sets of midi codes. I want to be able to change presents on the fly for azr3-jack (a hammond emulator) and it's controls are all based on CCs. To change 8 drawbars I would have to send 8 CC's - so...

The other reason I like Puppy is that you can have it run entirely in RAM.

Re: Virtual Theatre Pipe Organs and Puppy Linux 4.0
Hi Graham, Your VTPO MacPup looks awesome! What did you use to get the Miditzer icon looking so great? I just mucked around in photoshop while I was waiting for a tradesman to turn up. The icons are for wbar which is installed as part of the macpup macgic.J package ( http://macpup.org/packages.php ...

Re: Virtual Theatre Pipe Organs and Puppy Linux 4.0
Hi Graham, Glad that you got everything working well so quickly! That is really what this project is all about :-) I'm currently working on getting another build of linuxsampler/libgig etc together that is optimized for P4 and greater computers that will have 600note polyphony by default, with furt...

Re: Virtual Theatre Pipe Organs and Puppy Linux 4.0
Hi All I finally got back to my Miditzer machine to try out this new Puppy. Congratulations Graham and Russ. This is a beauty. Everything went smoothly and I could even use the existing script with a minor change in the path to the gig files. JConv works exactly as expected (which is superbly). Only...

Re: Virtual Theatre Pipe Organs and Puppy Linux 4.0
I've been out of the loop for a while but I'll jump back in here. :) In my setup, I use the FX sends with CC11 as the controller to react to the swell signals. I send the FX outputs to the audio device and don't connect the main outputs. If you use QSampler, you have to manually write these FX sends...

Re: LS Windows, polyphony and virtual organs
How are you sending MIDI to LS? You could try with Bome's mouse keyboard http://www.bome.com/midi/keyboard/ and MidiYoke http://www.midiox.com/myoke.htm if you haven't already. Forget about sound output for now and make sure you are getting MIDI into LS. Set up just one channel and a Midi device set...

Re: Accessing rear channels on soundcard
I'll answer my own post (for the record) because I found out how to do it. (My apologies to those who already know this stuff.) In qjackctrl -> setup, type 'surround41' into the "interface" box and set the output channels to 4. I'm not sure whether it is necessary but I also set it to playback only ...

Accessing rear channels on soundcard
Hi everyone. Can anybody point me in the right direction to find out how to access the rear channels on my soundcard? It's a CMI8738-MC6 and I'm running 64Studio(Debian Etch). I want to have a second instance of jconv sending to the rear channels of my soundcard via Jack but I have very little idea ...
