Instead of a NetJack VST, i would be better to have a JackVST plugin. Actually it could be done starting from the JackVST code done in the JackOSX project (see http://jackosx.cvs.sourceforge.net/jack ... CK-insert/)

Netjack2 (netjack for jack2) has been developed over the previous months and reach a state where it can be tested: http://trac.jackaudio.org/wiki/WalkThrough/User/NetJack2 Audio and MIDI can be send over the network and this works on Linux, OSX, and Windows. In jackdmp 0.70 version, the Jack MIDI ports (either created from ALSA seq or ALSA raw midi) have been renamed system:midi_capture_xx) for more consistent naming with AUDIO ports. This follow was is done in jackd MIDI backend. Note that all jack backend ports (audio or MIDI) may have an "alias" name...

I suggest that you carefully read JackOSX documentation especially the part concerning "Aggregate devices". You should try to setup jack outside of any use with LS, that is : - configure audio device for your machine (especially if you are using a Mac Intel machine) - try to use standard application...

Concerning Faust, Julius Smith, a "master" of DSP seems to like it very much, see: http://ccrma.stanford.edu/~jos/filters/ and http://ccrma.stanford.edu/realsimple/faust_strings/faust_strings.html. Faust is currently limited to temporal based DSP (not multi-rate or fft..) but it would be interesting...
