Re: Failed to launch backend

Yeah, both errors have the same cause: Go to the settings dialog of Fantasia / QSampler and then fill in the path to the linuxsampler binary (a.k.a. the "backend") which should be "/usr/local/bin/linuxsampler" if you used the Mac installer. Then restart Fantasia / QSampler and it should be able to l...

Re: No instrument database, Fantasia empty window

A vague question ends in a vague response. ;-) It depends on how large your sound libraries are of course. Essentially every single file below your sound library directory is loaded to retrieve the details of each sound for the DB. I am personally not using the instruments DB featue, I only fix DB i...

Re: Linuxsampler SFZ exclude groups

Controlling the release time by an exclusive group event is (I think) not implemented yet. I don't even know if there's already something for the SFZ format to control that. However what you could do is writing an NKSP script, where you have several options, for instance calling fade_out() , which y...

Re: How do I uninstall LinuxSampler on Mac OS?

Have you tried pkgutil ? List installed packages: pkgutil --pkgs List files of package: pkgutil --files org.linuxsampler Unfortunately Apple remove the uninstall command. So you would need to delete the listed files manually and then let pkgutil "forget" the package(s): sudo pkgutil --forget org.lin...

Re: Linuxsampler Issues on Xubuntu 18.04

These compile errors are due to a new LFO preview feature in Gigedit, and the error is because you are compiling latest development version of Gigedit (from svn) against the last official tarball release of LinuxSampler. Either use both Gigedit and LinuxSampler both from svn, or use both from offici...

Re: Linuxsampler Issues on Xubuntu 18.04

So you don't want to install all of the Qt5 packages, just the ones that are really required to compile QSampler. The precise names of the (minimum required) Qt packages to install, depends on your distribution and version of your distribution. Like I suggested before, since you are on a .deb based ...

Re: Play .mid through LinuxSampler

You probably want to use graphical frontend application like QSampler or Fantasia to load your sound into LinuxSampler.
