Re: Getting to work on Mac OS X

To create script from terminal: echo "/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Commands/java -jar <path-to-fantasia>/Fantasia.jar" > fantasia.command chmod +x fantasia.command Then you can launch Fantasia from finder by double-clicking fantasia.command Thanks for that. Fantasia is...

Re: LinuxSampler AU plugin

Woah! I didn't know about AU Lab. That has much less overhead than GarageBand, and it runs in 64-bit, which can't hurt with a 1GB giga file.

Also, you can use the /usr/bin/file command on the executable to determine if it is 64-bit.

Re: Getting to work on Mac OS X

asmeurer, Sorry, I think I deleted your last post by mistake. I should pay more attention where I'm clicking. No. I deleted it. I wasn't sure if it was really working, because I fiddled around after I saw that it worked and then I only heard it in my left ear and I thought that maybe I didn'...

Re: Getting to work on Mac OS X

YAY! It works. Thank you for working on this. I was messing around quitting and restarting GarageBand and qsampler and I got the left ear bug again, but a restart fixed it. The problem is that qsampler does not take it well if GarageBand closes off its connection to it, and I often have to force qui...

Re: Getting to work on Mac OS X

I think I can get a sample file. GarageBand requires some tricky manipulation to export to midi. Basically I have to use MIDI out and Melody Assistant. Is there an email or something that I could send those files to? I don't have a website that I can upload them to.

Re: Getting to work on Mac OS X

Well, that was much easier. I am now hearing it in both ears like I should, but there is another problem. With that giga file I mentioned earlier, the sustains are always on regardless of what my pedal is doing, and seemingly random notes will play with no sustain or any kind of reverb at all (i.e.,...

Re: Getting to work on Mac OS X

I tried download qjackctl and using that, but I can't seem to get it to start jack with coreaudio (as it shows in the screenshot on that page you linked to). I think I might have the settings wrong for it. Currently it is running the command jackd -v -R -dcoreaudio -r96000 -p1024 and it says that ja...

Re: Getting to work on Mac OS X

OK. I got it to work. I just set the port to "All"...except, I can only hear it in my left ear. I tried switching around the device channels for Jack but it still only plays in my left ear. And yes, I checked and the right side works just fine in other applications. By the way, I am testing with the...

Re: Getting to work on Mac OS X

Oh. I didn't notice before the LinuxSampler has a virtual MIDI input. I am already using MIDI Pipe to do some other stuff, so it's no problem piping it to LinuxSampler. I tried that and I am still hearing nothing. Do you know of any other OS X applications that use Jack so I could test that? Or mayb...

Re: Getting to work on Mac OS X

I think I have Jack working correctly, but I have no way of testing, because I don't think the MIDI part works. I set up a sampler channel, but I don't get anything when I play on my keyboard. Shouldn't it say the name of my MIDI device somewhere so that I know that it is using the right one?
