Re: Linuxsampler crashes with Vienna Ensemble Pro

SOLVED: The crashes are caused by Fantasia. To avoid crashes you have to prevent Fantasia from loading automatically when you touch the VSTi Gui. I created a folder with the program directory where moved in the Fantasia app. Now I have to start it manually what is fine since you don't need it very o...

SSD preload

I do always download the latest builds since I am no programmer and have a hard time compiling the sources. To my knowledge the WIN/AU plugins have preload times optimized for regular hard drives. With SSDs this preload could be reduced dramaticaly. Is it possible to offer a download that is optimiz...

Fantasia crashes big time

I am in the process of creating maps for a large orchestral template (30+ maps) and Fantasia crashes - well, hangs - on a regular basis. Omly today I have restarted Fantasia / LS probably 40 times. It hangs while updating the channels, it can't be refreshed or reset and I need to end the process in ...

Linuxsampler crashes with Vienna Ensemble Pro

Reloading any LS Vienna Pro Setup crashes VE Pro. It seems that the crash is caused by the fact that Ve Pro (as a host) is turned of and only active when another host is connected to it over a network port. As soon as this connection is established LS crashes Vr Pro: "Applying global stream/voice li...

Re: RAM usage

I bump this topic.

I am in the process of preparing a big orchestral template in Reaper and right now the amount of used RAM for 6 instances is - with little up to no samples loaded - over 2gig.

This is too much the VSTi instances should share some resources.

RAM usage

I created a Reaper64 template with 8 LS instances (8 ports). Besides a CPU use of nearly 30% (idle!) on a 2,6 quad core cou the amount of used Ram is very high: >1600 megabytes - with no single sample loaded. This should be improved in my opinion. LS Ram usage is 4 times as high as with 8 instances ...

Re: Assigning Midi Ports to channels

Fantasia opens up and updates after each instance I insert, i.e. it shows all instances inserted in the WIN DAW. The focus does not matter. I insert 2 instances in Studio one 2 x64 and I get 2 channels in Fantasia. One with midi port 0 and one with midi port 1. When I add another channel in Fantasia...

Assigning Midi Ports to channels

I am really getting some frustration here... When I insert 2 instances of LS 64 in Reaper or Vienna Ensemble Pro Fantasia opens up and shows 2 channels - one for midi port 1 (0) and one for midi port 2 (1). So now I want to add more channels in Fantasia for more articulations - 16 channels per port ...

giga stereo to mono tool

I would donate for a small application that (batch) converts stereo wavs in a gig file to mono, i.e. take the samples out of the file, convert them to mono and resave the giga patch.

Some orchestral patches work in mono, too (even better) and this also saves Ram/space.
