Multiple samples for the same key (random play)

Hi there,

I'm just starting to work with gigedit to create my own drum-sample. Is is possible to layer different samples on the same key and let linuxsampler choose per random which sample is actually played? I want to use this as "humanize" function and avoid the "maschine-gun-effect".

Yes. For random use the "Random Generator" dimension or for more control the "Round Robin" dimension.

There's also a "Keyboard Round Robin" dimension the difference is that all regions using that dimension share the same counter. But it's not that very useful for drum. :D

Worth mentioning is that sampled drums generally tend to use a great number of velocity splits (I have one with 12 to 16 velocity splits) instead of relying on round robin. Also many drum libs contain both left and right hand hits mapped to different keys. (E.g. I have mapped snare left to D2 and snare right to E2 in my custom drum map.)
