LinuxSampler occasionally makes unwanted bass sounds, that do not correspond to the MIDI notes or instructions that Ardour 3 sends to it (via the LV2 instrument plugin). Have others experienced this? Is there techniques to prevent it from happening.
I have five MIDI tracks in Ardour:
1. cowbell
2. cymbals
3. snare, handcaps, and toms
4. Bass Drum
5. Bass guitar
In LinuxSampler (Fantasia) I have 5 channels each with FluidR3_GM.sf2 loaded. The four percussion channels are on channel 10. Bass guitar is on channel 1. I am running Ubuntu Studio 10.04 with 4 GB RAM, low-latency kernel.
If I play from start to finish I usually hear two or three unwanted bass sounds, but if I stop playback and replay the trouble section, the bass sound is not there.

Re: Unwanted sounds from LinuxSampler beyond the MIDI notes
David,
I am not experienced, but
I use for each instrument a separate channel
If this is not the problem, I should check my samples in a wave editor.
Are the regions correct?
By the way, thanks for your advice how to compile linuxsamplerr. It is very usefull.
kind regards,
JanFlorijn
