I,ve tried both the libgig_3.2.1-1_i386.deb from your site as well as one I built from source (following the debian howto) but I always get this error during install:

dpkg: error processing libgig_3.2.1-1_i386.deb (--install):
trying to overwrite `/usr/lib/libgig.so.6', which is also in package libgig6
Errors were encountered while processing:
libgig_3.2.1-1_i386.deb

any hints?

OK, i get it now - libgig6 is an installed package. I removed QSampler, and its depenents and now the .deb installs without complaint.

On to the next step...

Good to hear you're up and running, and curiously enough, i did the same thing the first time i tried to install LS, so you're not on your own.
