Linux Sampler VSTI and midi note names in Reaper

Post by tajiman » Wed Apr 06, 2011 5:14 pm

I'm using the 32 bit LinuxSampler VSTI in Reaper to program beats using some free sfz drumkit sample sets.

There's some bit of VSTI magic going on when I use my other drum sampler (Rayzoon Jamstix) that allows Reaper to see the different names of the kit pieces and display them in the piano roll. This happens automatically when I load Jamstix as a vsti and then drop a midi clip onto the track. Each kit piece name (snare, kick, hat) appears on it's corresponding row (piano key).

Is this possible with LinuxSampler? If so, how to do it?

If not, (and just speculating here), but maybe an SFZ property (or possibly an extension) could be used to define the note names in the .sfz file.

Thanks,

tajiman
