Linuxsampler fails on my laptop.

Post by tim.thelion » Sun Jan 17, 2010 8:28 pm

I am getting a fatal error on Arch Linux. From my reading, this program works for other arch users, I don't know what's different about my system:

Code: Select all

Linux tomothytablet 2.6.31-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Nov 10 19:48:17 CET 2009 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU L7500 @ 1.60GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
All other alsa and jack programs that I have tested on my system work(zynaddsubfx, lmms, alsaplayer, ect for jack; mpd, flash, ect. for alsa).

I get the same error from both the stable arch packages and CVS(I didn't mix the packages).
There are two errors possible. One for alsa(without jack running.)

In fantasia. I create an alsa audio output device(this gets printed in the logs):
If I then press create channel it tells me "Connection to backend failed."

Code: Select all

Doing the same thing, with jack everything works fine(the logs are clean), and qjackcontrol's jackconnect see's linuxsampler's device. HOWEVER, when I try to create a new channel, I get the same dialog "Connection to backend failed." and this error:
