"Open keyboard"

Post by albin » Thu Sep 24, 2009 11:38 pm

Hey everyone,

This isn't really linuxsampler related but seems like a good place to post...

I'm working on (and have a working prototype) of a velocity sensitive midi master keyboard based around a high quality fatar keybed (http://www.fatar.com - think studiologic) and an atmel avr microcontroller. I've been using it with fluidsynth for a while know and it works really well also with pedal... I plan to open source the schematic and code and was just wondering if there is a general interest for this sort of thing in the open source music/sampling/synthesizer community...

Things that easily could be implemented are unlimited custom velocity response curves (as far as memory allows but its alot), unlimited divisions of the keyboard (again only memory and of course the number of keys :-) ) and basically any other feature you can come up with...

Would be cool if someone was interested...

Atb,
Albin

There will certainly be interest for it. You might want to post this to the "linux audio developers" mailing list, since its a general topic other ones might be interested as well.
