A mini distro for LS use

Post by New Men 2 » Mon Apr 28, 2008 3:47 pm

Hi all!

I'm looking for a minimum Linux distro for use with Linuxsampler.

Here's the requirements.
-no need for X
-Low latency patch installed
-should work with VIA nano or pico mobos
-support for the integrated audio (and S/PDIF)
-USB MIDI support
-all extra removed so it would boot in matter of seconds from a compact flash

The idea is to build a small box that holds a good piano sample for live use.
Hopefully it would be reliable and fast to boot. No need for keyboard, mouse or monitor. Only MIDI in and audio out.

If anybody could send me in the right direction it would be highly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Numento

Gentoo with the Pro-Audio Overlay. You can customize it to whatever you like.
