How the hell do i transpose in LS?

Post by songshop » Sat Feb 28, 2009 11:51 pm

surely this is something LS can do? i've tried everything. this is like having no door handles on a car. midi pitch specs are a total mess thanks to the synth makers as we all know, so you need this more than an fx loop. tried with gigedit, and while i can sucessfully "extend" ranges easily, moving the whoile instrument up/down for example, an 8ve, is a pita. sometimes the pitch o moved objects seems to jump several octaves etc... (i'm using save-as in gigedit btw)

enlightenment please ?

This was what I was going to write:

"Right-click on the instrument and choose properties. There you have a "Fine tune" parameter that allows you to transpose the whole instrument up to 7 octaves up or down (the unit is in cents of a semitone)."

But looking at the Linuxsampler code, this seems unimplemented.

So, the only way to transpose is to change the "Unity note" parameter of the separate dimension regions. Make sure that "Pitch track" is checked.

Thanks Andreas :) finally got my head around it....shifting the regions and changing the unity note did the trick, tho i can't find the 'property' entry you mentioned in Fantasia. Is there a possibility that the transpose feature will be included? VERY important I feel.

thanks again for LS .. it rocks !

Sorry, I meant in gigedit, not Fantasia.

Ok, it's on my list. Very simple change really, but I think it should be combined with another fix: "make sure LS doesn't crash when transposing too much".
