install latest LS and Jack?

Hi guys, I'm hoping for some seasoned advice.

A few days ago I installed 64Studio 3.0 AMD64. This is all new to me, but I don't think it included the latest versions of LS and Jack. Should I upgrade them, or, since it seems to be working, just run with what I have now.

Thanks,

Greg

midi cc# 11 supported on LS?

Hey guys,

Does LS support midi cc# 11 (expression)? I have instruments loaded that accept cc# 11 in Gigastudio, but not effecting them in LS. (cc# 7 and cc# 10 are working fine)

Thanks,

Greg

Hey, thanks for the help. I took a look at your openoctave project, looks interesting. At this point I plan to follow your progress while I get more familiar with linuxsampler, don't want to bite off too much at a time. "Create as many ports as you need. This is linux. I have 129 midi ports and lots...

Please help-1st time install of 64Studio/linuxsampler questi

Hey Guys, please forgive the total newbie questions. I've done a lot of forum searching and reading but not found all my answers... or at least didn't recognize them if I did. I've never had a linux machine before, so some of this command line stuff is pretty mysterious at this point. After a year o...

Re: MIDI over LAN

I guess you are using qsampler, right? Greg, I would advise you to try Fantasia if you're currently using QSampler. JSampler/Fantasia will give you a better impression for what LinuxSampler can do, it's more feature complete and actively developed by G. Who is a champ, by the way, when it comes to ...

Re: MIDI over LAN

I installed JACK OSX on a PPC (dual 2 ghz, 3.5 gb ram, 2-250 gb drives, OSX 10.4.11) and linuxsampler OSX to try and get a feel for linuxsampler. The documentation for JACK OSX says that NetJack has been removed "until it is fixed" but doesn't have anything about midi. Does anyone know when the audi...

Hardware : Server Hardware?

I spoke with my CTO about hardware needs for these new systems and he seemed to recommend that I try to standardize my hardware and focus on redundancy (hes pretty sick of having to constantly troubleshoot/rebuild my gigastudio rigs) Based on that, he seemed to think that buying a server from a vend...

LinuxSampler OSX midi not working

Hey guys, anyone have any ideas, I just downloaded and installed the latest versions of LinuxSampler OSX, JackOSX and Pete Yandell's MIDI Patchbay I don't know if it's a bug or if I've screwed it up somehow... In The Setup Channel pane Engine: GIG Filename: browses to .gig file ok Instrument: (No in...

Re: viable professional alternative to gigastudio?

Hey Anders, thanks for all your help. This is definitely worth giving it a good try, I like the dual boot idea and starting with just one pc, feels like safer way to check it out. Now, on to rebuilding a computer to run GS and Linuxsampler...

Take care, Greg
